2011 Summary
The 6th Annual Distinguished Lectureship on Diversity in Nursing, The Power in Nursing: Mentoring the New (and Old) Generation of Minority Nurse Leaders, was held on March 18, 2011 at the NJHA Conference Center in Princeton, N.J.

The W. Cary Edwards School of Nursing at Thomas Edison State College was proud to sponsor the sixth annual Distinguished Lectureship on Diversity in Nursing on Friday, March 18, 2011 at the New Jersey Hospital Association in Princeton, N.J.

The lectureship focused on the mentoring opportunities for minority nurse leaders to guide future minority nurse educators in their career. It also reviewed the significance of increasing the number and diversity of nurses, nurse leaders, and educators to meet the changing demographic landscape of America. Best practices of teaching minority students and the accomplishments of the second phase of the Online Minority Nurse Educator Program were reviewed.

2010 Summary: Our 2010 event, Journey Toward Leadership: Successes and Challenges of Minority Nurse Education, focused on the paths to success taken by minority nurse leaders.


2009 Summary: Our 2009 event, Diversity in a Virtual World: The Transformation of Nursing Education, emphasized the newest technology in nursing education and the significance of increasing the number and diversity of nurses, nurse leaders and educators to meet the changing demographic landscape of America.
