Griffis Appointed Distance Learning Education Specialist in the School of Nursing

Thomas Edison State College has appointed Kathleen E. Griffis as distance learning education specialist in the School of Nursing
TRENTON, N.J. (January 30, 2007) —— Thomas Edison State College has appointed Kathleen E. Griffis, of Hamilton Square, N.J., as distance learning education specialist in the School of Nursing.

 Griffis is responsible for participating in the management and organization of the RN to BSN/MSN distance learning program, including acting primarily as a nursing and technology resource for the School of Nursing students.

 In making the announcement, School of Nursing Dean Susan O’Brien, said, “Kathy brings a wealth of experience in educational technology and online education. She is a welcome addition to the School of Nursing.”

 For more than 30 years, Griffis has held positions in nursing management, staff development and nursing informatics. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Seton Hall University and a Master of Science in Nursing degree in advanced practice from The College of New Jersey as well as the Graduate Student Award. Griffis is a member of N.J. State Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau and was most recently inducted into Thomas Edison State College Honor Society of Nursing. Griffis has a certification in Case Management from Villanova University and an American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification in Nursing Informatics
