Course Approval/Planning Process

Please take a minute to review the information below regarding the GoArmyEd Tuition Assistance Process and the role of Thomas Edison State College in helping you meet these requirements.

There are two ways in which our academic advisement department can approve and plan your Thomas Edison State College courses. In order to do so, you will need a list of courses including the course number and title that you wish to take, a copy of your most recent Thomas Edison State College Academic Evaluation (available to you through online student services) and your GoArmyEd Course Planner (available to you on the GoArmyEd portal).

  1. By Email: academicadvising@tesc.edu. Insert your degree program (BA, BSBA, BST, AAS, AS, BS, etc.) and the words GoArmyEd in the subject line. Your email will route to an academic advisor who specializes in your degree program. Be sure to include the list of courses that you are interested in taking. The courses will be reviewed and planned into your academic evaluation by an academic advisor within 3 - 5 business days. If some of the courses you submit are not suitable, you may have to select additional courses and submit your list a second time. Following approval of your courses by an academic advisor, you will be responsible for entering your approved planned courses into your GoArmyEd Course Planner. A representative of Thomas Edison State College will then follow up by approving the course selections in the GoArmyEd portal

OR

  1. By Appointment: You can schedule a 15 minute ìTESC course planningî appointment by calling 609-984-1141 ext. 3310. Your appointment will be scheduled with the next available advisor in your degree program who will approve and plan your courses. Remember, you must have your suggested list of courses, your Thomas Edison State College academic evaluation (available to you through online student services), and your GoArmyEd course planner (available to you on the GoArmyEd portal) available at the time of your appointment. Following approval of your courses by an academic advisor you will be responsible for entering your approved planned courses into your GoArmyEd Course Planner. A representative of Thomas Edison State College will then follow up by approving the course selections in the GoArmyEd portal.

Note: If you wish to have courses from another college approved and planned in your program, you must submit your request through email. Please include the name of the institution, course number, course title, number of credits, and the course description. We will not be able to approve and plan non-Thomas Edison State College courses during ìcourse planningî appointments.

Finally, if you have more extensive questions other than Thomas Edison State College course approvals, please contact Advisement to make a more detailed advising appointment.
