Preparing for Your e-TECEP® exam
The first step, as with any TECEP® exam, is to review the Test Description or Test Details, your complete source of information regarding the exam. Go to the "e-TECEP® Essentials" tab on your Blackboard course site to view the test descriptions. The next step, if you have not done so already, is to obtain textbooks. Refer to the "e-TECEP® Handbook" tab in your Blackboard course site for information on obtaining textbooks and preparing for your e-TECEP® exam.
How and When to Schedule your e-TECEP® exam
Instead of taking a paper-and-pencil exam with a proctor at a college or library, e-TECEP® allows you to take your proctored exam online in your home or office through Kryterion’s Webassessor program, which utilizes web cam technology and a staff of proctors to observe the administration from a distance. To schedule your e-TECEP® exam using online proctoring, here’s what to do:
e-TECEP® Test Fees
$83 per credit (enrolled students)
$165 per credit (non-enrolled students)
e-TECEP® Test Rescheduling Fee
$20 per test
Payment is due at time of registration.
Note: Students participating in the Military Degree Completion Program, the Navy Rating Partnership Program or the College's Nursing degree program will pay the per-credit rate for e-TECEP® examinations as specified in each individual program.

Take the Practice Exam
In the "Tests & Quizzes" tab on your Blackboard course site, you will find a link to a practice exam that will allow you to become familiar with the online testing format and the appearance of the test questions on the screen. You may take this practice exam as often as you like.
Your e-TECEP® score
After you complete your e-TECEP® exam, you will receive your unofficial results. Remember, no results are final until you receive an official score report from the College, but the immediate score can be considered an accurate indicator of your test performance.
Academic Integrity
The Thomas Edison State College policy on cheating and plagiarism can be found by clicking on the following link: Statement about Cheating. You are responsible for reading and agreeing to this policy before you take your e-TECEP®. In addition, there is a link to this policy within the first question on your exam. When you take the exam, you signal that you have read and agreed to this policy.
Testing Irregularities
In the event of an irregularity such as the discovery of unauthorized materials or assistance during testing, the College reserves the right to cancel test results. If the student is responsible for the irregularity, test fees will be forfeited. If an irregularity is caused by testing center or the College, such as a power failure or server problems, the student will not be penalized and will be allowed to re-test.
