PHY-111 Physics I

First-semester introductory course intended for nonscience majors. Focuses on mechanics and the properties of matter and includes study of motion and energy.

It is advisable to have knowledge in a course equivalent to MAT-121 College Algebra with a grade of C or better to succeed in this course. Students are responsible for making sure that they have the necessary knowledge. Students will need a scientific calculator; a graphing calculator is not required. Programmable calculators are not permitted in examinations.
