NUR-501 Emerging Trends in Healthcare Technology

This course is designed to examine the impact of current and emerging technology on nursing and healthcare. The role of the advanced practice nurse in managing health within this context is examined. Sociocultural, ethical and legal influences and health policy aspects will be addressed. The implications of technology for the role of the advanced practice nurse in practice, education, administration and research will be examined.

A course equivalent to NUR-340-NU Nursing Informatics is required to be successful in NUR-501-NG Emerging Trends in Healthcare Technology. Students are responsible for ensuring they have acquired the knowledge needed prior to registering for NUR-501-NG.
