NUC-342 Radiological, Reactor and Environmental Safety
The student will be able to demonstrate knowledge of topics in health physics and the environmental aspects of nuclear power generation, that include the biological effects of radiation, dose-rate evaluation, radiation monitoring and radiological safety; reactor effluents and radioactive waste disposal; regulations governing radiation exposure and the release of radioactivity into the environment; and the environmental impact of nuclear power plants.
