School Business Administration

This degree provides a curriculum that encompasses the academic and professional areas of business and management while meeting the academic requirements for the New Jersey Department of Education administrative certification with the endorsement of School Business Administrator. Before qualifying for the School Business Administrator endorsement in New Jersey, candidates must satisfy additional requirements include completing a 150 hour internship in educational leadership, passing a state approved examination (SSSA), and completing five years of education-related experience. The program utilizes existing courses within both the School of Business and Management and the Heavin School of Arts and Sciences.

The Master of Science in Management with an area of study in School Business Administration is uniquely positioned for individuals seeking to become certified School Business Administrators in preK-12 school districts and in other educational settings requiring this endorsement. The 12 graduate credits earned are applied to the Master of Science in Management degree programs at Thomas Edison State College. Students must complete the 24 core credit requirements of the Master of Science in Management degree program.
