Your Academic Evaluation
Every applicant and enrolled student at TESC receives a customized academic program evaluation. Your academic evaluation will:
- Show you where your previously earned credit (transfer, licenses/certifications) will fit into your degree
- Show you what courses you have left to take
- Provide you with an invaluable planning tool when talking with a TESC academic advisor
How do I send transcripts and other documentation to be evaluated?
All official transcripts and documentation of a student’s past college credits, professional and/or military training and other licenses/certifications, should be sent to:
The Office of the Registrar
Thomas Edison State College
101 W. State St.
Trenton, NJ 08608-1176
Please visit Sending Transcripts for detailed information about sending documentation for evaluation.
How do I know my documentation/transcript has been received?
You can check on the status of your documentation/transcripts by logging into Online Student Services. Under the header Academic Profile, you can click on Transcripts Received to see a list of documents that have been received by TESC, and the date they were received.
How long does it take for my academic evaluation to be processed?
Academic Evaluations take approximately 20 business days from the date of application to be processed. You will receive an automated email letting you know when your academic evaluation has been completed, as well as instructions on how you can view it online.
How do I access my academic evaluation?
Your academic evaluation can be accessed via the College’s course management system, Online Student Services. Once you are logged in, you will find the link listed under the header Academic Profile.
All TESC applicants receive an acknowledgement letter that contains a College ID number and login information that enables them to login to Online Student Services and track their academic evaluation.
When can I register for courses?
Applicants who have been accepted to Thomas Edison State College may enroll and register for courses immediately. However, it is helpful to wait until after your academic evaluation has been completed in order to determine which coursework is remaining. Enrolled students are also encouraged to make an appointment with an advisor prior to registering for courses. To learn more about TESC Courses, visit Course Registration.
