Thomas Edison State College is honored to have been selected by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as a participating institution of the Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program.

The Yellow Ribbon program, a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008, allows colleges and universities in the United States to voluntarily enter into an agreement with VA to fund tuition expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate.  The College’s participation in the Yellow Ribbon program can be especially beneficial for veterans interested in earning a master’s degree and will enable some veterans, depending on the type and amount of their GI bill education benefits, to earn a college degree with little or no out-of-pocket expenses.

In New Jersey, the maximum charge per credit hour is $450.67 (per credit) and $5,736.00 in fees.* 

For undergraduate students, the College current tuition is $136.00 per credit (for New Jersey residents) and $180.00 per credit (for those living outside of New Jersey), and the College's current fees are well under the $5,736.00 cap.

For graduate students, the College's current tuition is $479.00 per credit.  Veterans using the new Post-9/11 GI bill can have $450.67 of that amount covered, after which the Yellow Ribbon program becomes effective. Once that takes place, the college would pay half of the additional $28.33 per credit, and the federal government would pay the remaining half.
