Nursing Scholarship Opportunities

Foundation of the National Student Nurses' Association, Inc.
In Memory of Frances Tomkins

The Foundation of the National Student Nurses' Association (FNSNA) was created in 1969 to honor Frances Tompkins, the Association's first Executive Director. Organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, FNSNA awards scholarships to qualified nursing students annually.

Eligibility requirements include current enrollment and matriculation in a state-approved nursing program leading to an associate degree, baccalaureate, diploma, generic pre-licensure doctorate or generic pre-licensure master's degree; or enrolled in an RN to BSN completion, RN to MSN completion, or LPN/LVN to RN program. The Foundation awards scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 annually. Scholarships may be applied toward tuition, books and academic fees only.

2010 Institute for Nursing Scholarship

All applicants must be New Jersey residents and must be enrolled (not waiting to hear) in a diploma, associate, baccalaureate, or masters nursing program located in the State of New Jersey or in a nursing doctoral program or a related field, preferably located in the State of New Jersey. RN's must be members of the New Jersey State Nurses Association (please attached a copy of membership card). Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, grade point average, and leadership potential. The Institute awards scholarships ranging $1000 annually. Scholarships may be applied toward tuition, books and academic fees only.

Army Nurse Corps Association (ANCA) Scholarship

The Army Nurse Corps Association is seeking applications to award scholarships to students attending accredited baccalaureate or graduate nursing and anesthesia programs. Other non-traditional nursing programs may also be eligible.

In 2010, scholarships will be awarded in memory of Captain Gussie M. Jones, AN, who died of non-battle related causes in Iraq. She was the first African-American Army Nurse to die while assigned in a theater of operations.
