2009 Streckewald Golf Classic


Perfect weather prevailed at the 15th Annual Thomas C. Streckewald Golf Classic on June 15, 2009 at Olde York Country Club in Chesterfield, N.J.  Seventy-one golfers participated in the event, which raised $35,600 and was sponsored by the Thomas Edison State College Foundation.

The Rider University Athletics foursome of Tommy Dempsey, Brian Keane, Don Harnum and Ron Walker came in first in the scramble format. The Sun National Bank foursome of Jim McManimon, Mark Cohen, Wayne Tessler and Dave Hankins took second place. Vernon Taylor won the putting contest. Ronald Guy was closest to the pin on the 8th hole and Ron Walker won closest to the pin on hole 15. Longest drive went to Richard Gregor for the men and Emma Swearingen for the women. Barry Edelman from Stark & Stark beat the pro.
