Program Overview: Nurse Paralegal Studies

The online Professional Certificate in Nurse Paralegal Studies at Thomas Edison State College is designed to prepare nurse paralegals to work in law firms, corporate legal departments, insurance companies, hospital systems, HMOs, risk management entities, medical legal publishing companies and government agencies.

Students will be immersed into the core subjects required to succeed in this dynamic profession, such as contracts, torts, legal research and writing, litigation and administrative law. In addition, the 45-week program has a strong emphasis on the role of technology in the legal field and how today's nurse paralegals must understand its impact and how to best utilize it.
