How and when to schedule your e-TECEP® exam
After you have registered and paid for your e-TECEP® exam with the College, you must schedule for a specific online test session at one of over 200 ACT test centers. Here's what to do:
1. Go to www.act.org to locate the ACT test center closest to you.

2. Schedule a specific date and time to take your exam at your chosen center. You will be able to schedule your exam starting on the first day of the semester. You need to schedule yourself for a 2 hour test window.

3. You have 12 weeks in which to complete your e-TECEP®. You can schedule your test appointment anytime between the beginning and end of the 12-week semester. That decision will rest entirely on your readiness to take the exam and the availability of test times at your chosen ACT center. Keep in mind that some ACT centers will be busier than others. We recommend that you give yourself plenty of lead time in selecting and scheduling an appointment at your ACT center in case time slots are limited.

NOTE: Failure to find an open test slot at an ACT center will not be considered an acceptable reason for not completing your e-TECEP® by the end of the semester.

What happens on test day?
When you arrive at your chosen ACT center, you will sign in and provide the required photo identification. The center will provide a computer on which you will log into your Blackboard section. The proctor will enter a password to open the link to your e-TECEP®. This link can be accessed only once during your semester, so be sure you are prepared to complete the exam. Although your e-TECEP® has a 2 hour time limit, ACT requires that you allow an additional 30 minutes for instructions at the ACT center and for a brief survey you will take after the exam. As with all exams, you may not need the full two hours to complete your e-TECEP® but you want to make sure that time is available to you if you should need it.

Your e-TECEP® score
After you complete your e-TECEP® exam, you will receive your unofficial results. Remember, no results are final until you receive an official score report from the College, but the immediate score can be considered an accurate indicator of your test performance.

Rescheduling your e-TECEP® exam
If you do not complete your e-TECEP® by the end of the 12-week semester, the College will allow you to reschedule it. In order to do that you will need to pay a $20 rescheduling fee to the Office of Test Administration (OTA) and you will be given an additional two weeks only in which to reschedule your ACT test appointment and to complete your e-TECEP® exam. After that two-week window, your Blackboard site will no longer be available, you will be required to re-register for your e-TECEP®, and you will have to pay the full registration fee to the College.

Academic Integrity
The Thomas Edison State College policy on cheating and plagiarism can be found by clicking on the following link: Statement About Cheating.  You are responsible for reading and agreeing to this policy before you take your e-TECEP®. In addition, there is a link to this policy within the first question on your exam. When you take the exam, you signal that you have read and agreed to this policy.

Testing Irregularities
In the event of an irregularity such as the discovery of unauthorized materials or assistance during testing, the College reserves the right to cancel test results. If the student is responsible for the irregularity, test fees will be forfeited. If an irregularity is caused by the ACT Center or the College, such as a power failure or server problems, the student will not be penalized and will be allowed to re-test.
