Elizabeth Quinn '06

Elizabeth A. Quinn, ’06, found good reason to utilize the many credit earning options that Thomas Edison State College offers: there is something for every learning style.

From online courses and exam-focused e-Pack® and TECEP® courses to Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) that capitalized on her college-level knowledge, Quinn said that one method, or all of them, may be exactly what an adult student is looking for.

“I found e-Packs® useful when I was looking for a more self-paced, accelerated method of course completion,” said Quinn, who earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology.

She also took advantage of examination programs, guided study and Prior Learning Assessment courses, as well as online courses, where she enjoyed the camaraderie of the online learning community.

“In my last semester, I took four courses online that were a real joy because of the large number of articulate, well-informed people enrolled that shared discussion boards with me," she Quinn. "The ability to discuss course topics with fellow students really stimulated learning and solidified the experience.”

How Elizabeth earned her degree:

Online coures  6 courses  18 credits
Guided Study courses  27 courses  90 credits
Prior Learning Assessment courses  1 course  3 credits
 TECEP® courses  1 course  3 credits
 e-Pack® courses  2 courses  6 credits
 Total    120 credits
