BSAST in Nuclear Engineering Technology
The Bachelor of Science in Applied Science and Technology (BSAST) degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology is designed for reactor operators and related workers in the nuclear industry or in the U.S. Navy nuclear power program. Required courses include Nuclear Physics, Thermo-dynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Nuclear Reactors (four courses), Nuclear Power Plant Instrumentation, Radiation Effects and Radiation Safety. Corollary requirements are Physics I and II, Chemistry I, Calculus I and II, and Computer Programming. Credits may be earned from the Navy Basic Nuclear Power School, advanced Navy training, NRRPT certification, NRC licensure or professional training. The degree is a 120-credit program.
