ASAST in Respiratory Care

Have you earned a professional license or certification, or acquired college-level technical expertise on the job? If so, it may be worth college credit. The College also offers a variety of other ways to earn credit, including transferring previous college credits, all designed around the needs of adult learners, like you.




The Associate in Science in Applied Science and Technology (ASAST) degree in Respiratory Care is limited to registered respiratory therapists possessing a required certification: NBRC RRT Registered Respiratory Therapist. Students must present a copy of the original certification and current renewal card. Required courses include Cardiopulmonary Anatomy, Physiology and/or Pathology, Microbiology and Respiratory Techniques (five courses). Corollary requirements are Intermediate and Precalculus Algebra, Chemistry I and II, Anatomy and Physiology, and Computer Concepts. The degree is a 60-credit program.
