Mission and Purpose

The School of Applied Science and Technology provides adult learners with innovative degree programs that facilitate learning, engagement and discovery in the applied sciences and technology fields. Most programs are designed for adults employed in the field of study they are interested in and many programs require professional licensure or certification.  The curriculum meets the educational and career needs of adults in professions where opportunity is facilitated by technical currency, practical knowledge and applied skills.

The school provides opportunities to achieve personal and career goals through programs in more than 30 areas of study, enabling students to integrate skills and knowledge acquired outside academia by granting academic credit for professional licenses/certifications, apprenticeships, professional training and military training. Students may also advance toward their academic goals by transferring credit from other regionally accredited institutions or by earning credit through alterative methods, such as examination programs, such as CLEP and DANTES, and the College’s Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) program.
