Course Mentors

Program Director

William J. Mulkeen, program director, is a graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law. He has been active in legal education for over 30 years and has most recently served as the president of the American Association for Paralegal Education (AAfPE). Mulkeen is a member of the AAfPE Technology Task Force. He has been an active team member with various national paralegal accrediting agencies that are part of the Council of Higher Education Accreditation of the United States Department of Education and has served as a civilian and military paralegal program reviewer with the American Council on Education (ACE). Mulkeen is also the past president of the Academic Council at Thomas Edison State College.

Course Authors and Mentors

William P. Statsky is a graduate of Columbia Law School and is the author of sixteen textbooks on paralegal subjects. Many of his textbooks, including Introduction to Paralegalism, Torts, and Family Law are used in leading paralegal programs throughout the nation. He mentors the Introduction to Paralegalism course.

Lise Hunter is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School and has been teaching paralegal courses both in the classroom and online for many years at the New York City College of Technology, where she has also served as chair of Legal Assisting Studies. She is a former member of the Board of Directors of the American Association for Paralegal Education (AAfPE) and mentors the Contracts course.

Michael C. King is a graduate of George Mason School of Law and is currently chair of the Business Division at Essex County College. He has been involved in legal education for over 20 years and is currently a member of the Thomas Edison State College Business Advisory Board and the Manhattan College School of Business Advisory Board. He mentors the Torts Course.

Raquel Y. Bristol is a graduate of Rutgers Law School and is currently an appellate attorney in New Jersey. She has significant experience teaching English Composition and Legal Research and Writing at both introductory and advanced levels and has served as an editor at a national legal publishing company. She mentors the Legal Research and Writing course.

Charlotte Riser Harris is a graduate of Virginia Tech and the Southwestern Paralegal Institute. She has been a paralegal for over ten years and was the manager of Practice Support at Vinson and Elkins, an international law firm, where her duties include coordination of the firm's litigation support technology, electronic discovery, data and document management, trial presentation and internal training. She is currently a partner with Five Star Legal Compliance, Inc., in Los Angeles and mentors the Litigation course.

William Jenson is a graduate of the Suffolk University Law School and is the judicial officer of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Judicial Officer is the final deciding officer in administrative adjudicatory proceedings conducted by the USDA. He is also vice chair of the American Bar Association's section on Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice in Agriculture and has taught administrative law at the USDA Graduate School for many years. He mentors the Administrative Law course.

Thomas Goldman is a graduate of Temple Law School and is the author of several leading paralegeal textbooks, including Paralegal Profession, and Technology in the Law Office. He has served as a paralegal program director for many years and as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Association for Paralegal Education (AAfPE). He is currently the Chair of the AAfPE Technology Task Force. He will mentors the Introduction to Technology in the Law course.
